Locations Around New York City
![]() |
New York is a big place with a lot of places to go. This list is to help you find places in the city for whatever purposes that you need. It will also give a brief description of them so you don’t have to google. If you’d like to have a location in the city added please comment to this post. The radius that players can travel is mapped HERE. POST OFFICE: There are a lot of post offices in New York City however the one that holds HQ’s PO Box (#46652) is located at: 909 3rd Ave #400, New York, NY 10022. It’s a state run facility and fairly safe. The PO Box is under the name Michael Smith and one must have ID in order to pick up any packages. Mail can be sent from this location to anywhere if need be. NINTENDO WORLD: Located at Rockefeller Center at 10 Rockefeller Plaza, the two-story, 10,000-square-foot store is the only official Nintendo Store in the United States. There is a museum on the second floor with shirts, plushies and the newest games and news. A new release to a game will have people lined outside of the store for blocks. FOOD: New York is known for their style of pizza and the pizza places here are no joke. You can find one on almost every block and they all advertise the same thing, thin brick oven pizza with grease to spare. Some hipper places have vegan options as well. New York also sports basic fast food such as McDonalds’, Burger King, White Castle, KFC, Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell and more. These places are common though we don’t suggest you stop in to use the bathroom. There are also food chains that are a step up such as P.F.Chang’s, Wings-to-go and a plethora of sports bars you’ve never heard of. There are fancier restaurants as well but I assure you, you can’t afford it. Inflation has taken New York by storm. There are also many ethic locations such as Go-Go Curry, Excellent Dumpling House, Johnny’s Bistro, Café Nourriture. BROADWAY: Broadway theatre or commonly known as Broadway, refers to the theatrical performances presented in the 40 professional theatres with 500 or more seats located in the Theater District and Lincoln Center along Broadway, in Midtown Manhattan. Along with London's West End theatres, Broadway theatres are widely considered to represent the highest level of commercial theatre in the English-speaking world. OFF BROADWAY: This is a theater, play, or performer located in an area of New York City other than the Broadway theater district, typically with reference to experimental and less commercial productions. This also means that they’re cheaper and not as good so be careful if you bring a date here. NIGHTLIFE: New York’s night life spans from Lower Manhattan to East Village and then up to Midtown. There are amazing places to see, some legendary, some stylish. Among them include Village Vanguard which is a famous Jazz Club that has iconic gigs since the 1960’s. Birdland Jazz Club NYC is a large Cajun influenced bar. Then Café Carlyle which is the residence of the late singer/pianist Bobby Short & a weekly jamming pad for Woody Allen on Clarinet. Other clubs include but are not limited to Marquee, Le Bain, Webster Hall, Provocateur, Pacha and Mehanata Bulgarian. Trust me, if it exists, it’s in New York. There are few other places with such a creative nightlife. MITSUWA: Mitsuwa Marketplace is a Japanese supermarket chain in America, with locations in California, Illinois, and New Jersey. It’s just across the river from New York City and hey! You can make it there without much trouble. It’s a bit of a hike with traffic but it’s worth it. This is the closest you can get to having Japan cuisine with their small food court including delicious rare deserts and steaming udon. They also have a grocery store with cooling pads and all sorts of things you might not know what to do with. Their whiskey section is no joke. Japan takes whiskey very seriously. TIME SQUARE: Times Square is a major commercial intersection and neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. It’s filled with bright lights, shops and weird people standing on the street trying to sell you things that may or may not be stolen. Some of them are pretty cool. Some guys are making those space spray paint drawings and charging a lot. Other people are just begging for money and some will grab at you if you aren’t careful. MUSEUMS This will probably sound boring to most but New York has a lot of museums you probably didn’t know existed. Museum of Modern Art/Metropolitan Museum of Art. Museum of Modern Art which I don’t suggest unless you want to be scratching your head afterwards. American Museum of Natural History, Jewish Museum and more! Sadly… they do not have an Air and Space Museum. There is a Children's Museum of the Arts; maybe some of you can learn to finger paint! STATUE OF LIBERTY: It’s a copper statue now oxidized to green. It was built between 1876 and 1882 as a gift from the French. It was the first thing people saw when they arrived in America and has since become an iconic and moving landmark. A book of all of those who arrived in America can be found on Liberty Island today and it’s open for public visits. You know, if you get a boat ride out there. SUBWAY: Opened in 1904, the New York City Subway is one of the world's oldest public transit systems, one of the world's most used metro systems, and the metro system with the most stations and the most trackage. It offers service 24 hours per day and every day of the year. HOWEVER you need a pass which you don’t have unless you purchase one. There are also times of the day when you notice people standing way to close for comfort and then other times where there is that one spooky guy standing at the end of the platform. MALLS: Do I need to tell you about shopping? New York’s malls are no joke. They are inside of buildings and span floors with every shop you’ve ever seen. Oh look, there is even a Gap, Sears (that still exists right?), JCPenny, Hot Topic, Spencers, Barnes & Noble, Apple, Abercrombie, Forever 21, Claire’s, Victoria’s Secret… I think you get the idea. |
